Guaranteed Ride Home Program

HOW-TO: UTA'S GUARANTEED RIDE HOME

Version: 16 Feb 2011

East Bay Van Pool's vans are all leased as part of UTA's RideShare program. UTA provides a Guaranteed Ride Home program for RideShare van pool members.

The UTA's Guaranteed Ride Home program is a safety net providing a ride home in the case of an emergency, illness, or a family crisis requiring the vanpooler to leave work early. Unplanned/unexpected overtime is also allowed, but pre-planned overtime does not qualify. “Missing your van” does not qualify for a guaranteed ride home.

The program is offered to employees who are participants in the vanpool program only and is not available to other employees or family members. Employees must have ridden the UTA van to get to work on the day of the GRH request. Participants will receive this service, at no cost to the employee other than tip or gratuity, which shall be at the participant’s option.

Please see the attached PDF file (bottom of the page) for UTA's instructions on using the Guaranteed Ride Home program. When calling, you must know your van number and the name of the employer [East Bay Van Pool]
